Corridor flat
Corridor flat
Transformation of an apartment, Torino 2018
An apartment for a young couple is located on the first floor of a 19th century building, overlooking a narrow street and wedged between narrow courtyards. The flat is structured by a corridor which is even narrower, longer and darker than the typical historical corridors.
Without any structural work, the project only tries to break its continuity, locating all the few architectural changes along it: a little wardrobe is obtained by shifting a bit of an existing wall, an office can pop up by moving a glazed folding door, a bathroom and a kitchen are connected to form a continuous block accross an existing structural wall.
